Apple Bodemer

Apple Bodemer is an Associate Professor in the Dermatology Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After finishing her residency, she completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona. She was the first Dermatologist to be Board Certified in Integrative Medicine and now sits on the American Board of Integrative Medicine. She is passionate about teaching and works with both Dermatology residents at the University of Wisconsin and Integrative Medicine Fellows both in Wisconsin and Arizona. She has authored Chapters in the Primary Integrative Medicine textbook and written curriculum for the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine Fellowship program as well as for the National Veterans Association Whole Health Initiative.

Along with her academic teaching, she is committed to prevention and believes that the best way to impact health is to empower people to take their health into their own hands. She has significant experience interacting with people through a variety of media outlets including radio, television, and print, and has worked with a number of schools to educate children about skin cancer prevention.

Her passion in this area is exploring how lifestyle impacts both chronic and acute skin conditions with a particular focus on diet and nutrition.

Outside of the medical field, she loves to spend time with her four children and two dogs. She is likes to stay physically active and loves to cook – especially whole foods plant based foods!!!!!
